E4 was warming up in the early hours with mighty wing flaps. E4 explored the nest for something to eat and then did a bit of preening. Mom and Dad flew on and off the nest several times, sometimes with a food delivery and sometimes with empty talons. Maybe one lesson for today was to keep E4 guessing. Ozzie delivered 2 fish in the morning, ate some and fed some to E4 until Mom arrived. Harriet took the rest of the fish away from Ozzie then she ate some and fed some to E4. Mom and Dad ate several more times on the nest as E4 watched and waited to be fed. Maybe another lesson is for E4 to be more aggressive and go after the food. E4 seemed to be squeeling at Mom as she flew off the nest without providing a feeding.
Ozzie and Harriet each flew off to the pond and then to the some of the other pond trees. E4 watched and observed and possibly yearned to follow Mom and Dad. Hopefully E4 is building up the courage to take those first steps off the nest and eventually a first flight.
