M15 and F23 keep E23 well nourished, and the results are showing. Three-week-old E23 seems to be developing at record speed. E23 has changed immensely since last week and continues to do so daily. E23 is seen, peeking above the nest rails. Thermal down appeared just in time for colder weather since E23 hardly fits under M15 or F23 for warmth. E23 flapped their sprawling wings for Momma to see the new pin feathers emerging.
M15 and F23 protected E23 from all the elements. E23 has experienced wind, rain, cold, and warm sun over the week. Dad and Momma also give E23 space to explore and peer at the outside world. E23 is keenly aware of the surroundings and knows the boundaries. E23 cruises around “walking on hocks” or the tarsus/leg bone and practices balance. Sleeping, eating, and preening new feathers take up most of E23’s day.
M15 and F23 work tirelessly to ensure their precious E23 has all the necessities. Nutritious and diverse meals keep coming, and E23 watches the preparations. E23 begins nibbling at the food in the nest, getting a few morsels. There are times when M15 gives food to F23, who then passes it to E23. M15 and F23 add materials and sticks to the rails to keep E23 safe. E23 imprints on all the activity around the nest. They are a perfect team and Family learning from each other.
