E24 and E25 are making great strides in their development as they turn 4 weeks old. M15 and F23 have provided a bounty of fish and prey for their nourishment. They keep E24 and E25 well-fed, often working in tandem at mealtime. The menu has been diverse, with the addition of interesting items. Over the week, flopping fish, a rabbit, different fowls, and a snake were delivered. E25 picked off a few tender morsels of a fish attempting to self-feed. All the good nutrition has contributed to the growth and enrichment of E24 and E25.
E24 and E25 test their leg muscles, stand for a few seconds, and even take a few steps. Awareness of their surroundings is evident as E24 and E25 track the movements of M15 and F23 and anticipate food deliveries. They gain more independence as Dad and Momma spend time away from the nest, but never too far or for too long. Safety and security are a priority to keep intruders, especially the pesky, reappearing owl away.
E24 and E25 enter the next developmental phase as they lose their wispy natal down feathers to the beautiful dark juvenile feathers popping out all over. They flap in the breezes to exercise and strengthen their growing wings. Their balance is improving, and they will begin to walk upright. They will practice self-feeding as they stand on prey to tear pieces. Many new advancements are in their future. They are excelling under the attentive care and guidance of phenomenal Eagle Parents.
