Harriet and M15 have engaged their amazing abilities and instincts doing their share to add to their legacy and that of the Eagle population. They follow along a common thread of thousands who have come before them dedicated to the cause. There are preparations to be made and challenges to be overcome. The goal is always in sight even if it is far off in the future. The path is a combination of successes and missteps, joys and sorrows, and knowledge and mystery.
Harriet and M15 remain in their territory working almost daily refurbishing their nest. Additions of branches and nesting keep the nest in great shape and remind all that their home turf is occupied. Some of their behaviors have been observed in previous Seasons after their Eaglets have fledged. Some of their actions look as if they have pushed the reset button on this Season. Their work seems more focused on the nest bowl as M15 digs in and tries out the fit. Food keeps arriving with Harriet also bringing items to the nest. They continue their courtship rituals-soaring together, bathing together, perching together keeping their bond cemented.
Harriet and M15 focus on living in the moment. We can only be observers of nature rarely explaining its workings. The view into Harriet and M15’s extraordinary journey has been an opportunity to be inspired and enlightened by the mysteries of Eagle life. Nest Notes by dadsjazz.
