wskrsnwings - I arrived to the nest just minutes after a GHO (great horned owl) knocked M15 from the attic. The owl was nowhere in my sight but H & M continued to vocalize alerts from the nest tree. M15 appeared fine when he flew later to a pasture snag before flying to perch on the tall snag behind the shopping center. Harriet remained in the nest tree watching over the 26 day old E's and the immediate area. M returned with several palm frond leaves and then flew from the area again. I could see the E's flapping their wings and moving in the nest as the morning progressed. M returned with a whole fish and fed the E's. I was excited to see them grabbing bites from M's beak from my ground view. Harriet left and returned with a unidentifiable food item while M was feeding the E's. M15 flew from the nest tree and Harriet finished feeding the E's. A tense morning changed to a good morning as I could see the whole family was just fine.
