M15 and F23 took exceptional care of their not-so-little E23, who turned two weeks old. E23’s growth progresses rapidly from all the frequent feedings by Momma and Dad. E23’s appearance changes daily. E23’s feet, wings, and little tail are bumping out all over. E23 has new thermal down emerging to allow thermoregulating and spending more time in the open air. M15 or F23 stand watch as E23 scoots around the nest, picks at nesting, and discovers new sights.
M15, F23, and E23 have become a well-synced Family, eating together on the nest and sharing the abundant prey. M15 wanted to participate in meal times, so he fed F23, who passed the food to E23. At an early feeding, F23 gave a piece of fish to E23 that became lodged in E23’s mouth and throat. F23 tried to remove it, and E23 couldn’t expel it. Nothing seemed to work until M15 came to the nest, pulled the item out, and saved the day. It was a tense situation, but the outcome was successful.
M15 and F23 keep their extraordinary Family well-fed and well-protected. F23 fulfills her roles as Momma to E23 and partner to M15 in stellar fashion. Her nurturing care of her Family is admirable. M15 supports and defends F23 and E23 as the perfect mate and Dad. Together, they have created a safe and sound Family environment for their cherished E23 to thrive. Nest Notes by dadsjazz.
