The overnight hours were cooler and rainy. Mom and Dad took turns keeping the sweet little Es dry and warm. Although Mom usually spends the night time hours brooding the E’s, Dad took his turn to give Harriet a chance to dry off her wings. Mom and Dad continued the fish deliveries and the E’s were well fed. E3 and E4’s usual sparring gave way to snuggling together for warmth in the cool daytime hours.
Ozzie removed a large fish carcass that was in the nest from the previous day. One of his duties seems to be to keep the nest tidy and clear of leftovers. Ozzie and Harriet continue their diligent care of growing E3 and E4. They are also on constant guard and watch the skies for their protection. Ozzie and Harriet’s devotion to their young E’s and to each other is unfailing.
