Steady & Strong- Nest Notes, Photos & Videos for Feb 17

E4 was greeted by the dawning of a new day and Mom’s early morning delivery of a small fish to the nest. E4 has been practicing the many skills needed to survive and grow into a beautiful adult Eagle. E4 spent the next part of the morning attempting to self feed, trying to coordinate standing on the fish and pulling it apart to get a few bites. Awkwardness is changing into steadiness as E4 stood tall and strong on the nest edge for most of the day.

Ozzie delivered a huge bass to the nest in the early afternoon. Ozzie and Harriet both arrived in quick succession with their catches, Harriet with a rodent and Ozzie with a fish he grabbed from an Osprey flying close to the nest. E4 was very well fed today. Ozzie and Harriet each spent time at the pond in the late afternoon. Ozzie fed E4 a bedtime snack and retired to the outer branch of the nest tree with Harriet. E4 was safe and satisfied in the nest as Mom and Dad perched together watching the sunset.
