The foggy morning gave way to a beautiful sunny day at the nest. E4 was up early “nestorizing” and looking for any leftover goodies. Harriet was perched on the upper nest tree branch. Ozzie landed with a fish head and eager E4 rushed for the mantle and steal. E4 is getting good at stealing the prey. Each time Mom or Dad arrived on the nest even their talons were fair game. Mom brought nest grass and E4 mantled and took it away. The best mantle to date was when E4 tracked Dad flying into the nest with a whole fish and E4 went in for the steal.
There were several fish deliveries today. E4 still needed help with feedings but is getting better and better at self feeding each day. Mom and E4 had a little tug back and forth at one feeding. E4 is learning to be more aggressive at feeding time. E4 was standing watch as the daylight faded into night.
