E4 was perched on the porch branch early this morning and ready to take flight to the trees behind the church next to the nest pasture. E4 seems to like hiding in those trees from the shrikes and crows that are still using E4 for target practice. Ozzie flew to the ground near the pond with food maybe trying to entice E4 to follow. E4 has not been on the ground since the tumble that happened on E4’s first flight. Ozzie then took the food back to the nest with E4 in pursuit to take the prize. E4 later flew back to the pond tree to spend time with Ozzie.
Ozzie took a bath in the pond and spent time drying off and preening on the cam 2 tree. Meal times were mad dashes to the nest by E4 and Mom. E4 aggressively mantled and protected the meals from both Mom and Dad. E4’s rush to the nest practically knocked Dad overboard at one point. Mom and E4 played tug o’ war over dinner.There are still more lessons to learn but E4 has been perfecting the skills learned to date. E4 was resting comfortably in the nest after another action packed day in pasture
