Harriet’s Dedication and Protection- Nest Notes, Photos & Videos for April 20

Early morning activity began with E4 and Harriet off to perch in a tree in the west pasture and Ozzie off toward the river. E4 likes to be close to Mom and Mom’s sights are always set on E4’s needs and protection. Even when Harriet perches off in the distances her focus is on E4. As a sub adult eagle intruded into the pasture territory, Harriet sounded the alert and took to the skies to escort the intruder away.
.
E4 flew off toward the south and greeted Ozzie returning to the nest with prey. Harriet had the catch of the day, a large catfish which E4 mantled but Mom wanted to keep hold of. Mom and E4 had a bit of a struggle over the fish with Mom feeding E4 and herself. E4 managed to get the fish away from Mom but as usual she got the last bite. It seemed that Harriet was giving Ozzie the recap of the day while they perched in the nest tree as the day came to a close.
