E4’s Visitor Returns- Nest Notes, Photos & Videos for April 30

As another day dawns, Ozzie, Harriet and E4 are busy with their daily activities. They were all perched in one of the pond trees in the morning and then E4 watched Mom and Dad fly off toward the river. E4 headed to the church tree. Later in the morning Harriet returned to the pasture from the area where she perches on the power pole. E4 had a beautiful flight soaring high above the pasture territory before perching in the pond tree. E4 visited the pond and flew back to the tree with something found there.

In the early afternoon, a juvenile eagle was seen flying toward the pond across the street from the nest area and another juvenile eagle was soaring the skies above. They may have been the same juvenile eagles who visited E4 and the pasture yesterday. E4 was watching all of this unfold. Harriet returned to the nest with the juvenile following. E4 arrived at the nest tree as Mom and the juvenile flew to perch in the same pond tree. As the rain began, E4 flew to the other pond tree. The juvenile sat perched quietly with Mom and E4 vocalizing back and forth. All were drying out from the rain for about an hour. Harriet perched close to and observed the juvenile who seemed very comfortable. It was an amazing sight to see that Harriet tolerated the juvenile being in her territory. The juvenile eventually flew off, soaring higher and then out of sight. Could this have been one of Harriet’s offspring? We will never know. The encounter was peaceful and serene.
