Dedication and commitment are the resolve of Harriet and M15 as 2016 arrives without ceremony in the territory. Fireworks could be viewed off in the distance but Harriet and company were tucked in the safety of their nest as M15 stood guard nearby. The past year has been filled with many dramatic moments and culminated with the renewal of life as Harriet and M15 produced the beginnings of their bond. Harriet laid their first egg on December 19, 2015 at 4:25 pm and the second egg was laid on December 22, 2015 at 5:40 pm.
In the weeks since the eggs were laid Harriet and M15 have become a top performing incubating system as they take well timed shifts in the nest. Even though this may be M15’s first time as Eagle Dad, he has stepped up to his role as if he has had many years of experience. His very first turn at egg tending showed him to be very capable. When the second egg appeared M15 never missed a beat and adapted very well to rolling and incubating both of the precious gems. Nature has provided him with all the instincts necessary to accomplish his role of provider and protector of his family.
Harriet’s experience and encouragement of M15 have provided her with a very trusted mate. M15 has matured into an extremely loyal and helpful partner for Harriet. It will be a joy to see him reap the rewards of his hard work and become Eagle Dad of soon to be eaglets. Harriet and M15’s path has taken many twists and turns but they have stayed true and taken all the necessary steps to further their legacy. Nest Notes by dadsjazz
