Weekly Nest Notes: Continuing the Journey (Feb. 25)

Harriet and M15  proceed on their mission with compelling resolve to propagate their species.  After the loss of their Eaglet E14 and Egg 2 that did not hatch, an empty nest did not seem to be part of Harriet and M15’s plan.  They began to work on all the components of what it takes to raise a family.  They started rebuilding their nest, kept their territory within their grasp, and solidified their bond and devotion to each other. Their behaviors over the last month gave many indications that they were carrying on with their Season possibly against all odds.

Harriet and M15 entered a new stage as they defied what was thought to be “normal” Eagle behavior. Harriet has always had amazing instincts and timing, and in her continued surprising fashion, she presented Egg 3 to the world. Her desire to be an Eagle Mom was quite evident as she seemed to be in her element incubating their priceless Egg 3. M15 arrived to view their new arrival and eagerly took his turn on nest duty.

Harriet and M15 have been richly rewarded in their efforts as they have brought new life to the pasture. Each new day brings more lessons and renewed hope for their future. All eyes are focused on Harriet and M15 with much admiration for their perseverance and persistence in their continuing  journey.                 Nest Notes by dadsjazz
