SWFEC Nest Notes: Gaining Knowledge and Skill

E19 and E20 made progress with their Eagle education throughout the week. The weather turned cool with wind and rain, prompting them to flap and jump around the nest with excitement. M15’s presence in the nest stopped E20 from going over the edge by a strong wind gust. E19 and E20 engaged in tandem winging around the nest in a downpour. They fly-hopped to and from the veranda branch, perched side by side, and took in the views. E19 and E20 sharpen their skills and gain more knowledge each day.

E19 and E20 build strength and confidence to brave new levels and seek higher branches in the nest tree. A possible new stop may be the attic branch and upward from there. Their natural curiosity and desire for freedom will push them to take that giant leap from the comfort and security of the nest. Their eyes seem to light up as they watch Mom and Dad show them how to navigate the branches. E19 and E20 continue to practice toward an exceptional milestone of a first flight away from the nest tree.

Harriet and M15 have imparted many lessons to E19 and E20 for their future lives. E20 is becoming a master in the art of grabbing and mantling food deliveries. E19 uses strength and persistence to get a share of a meal. E20 is growing into their fierceness, while E19 remains an intimidating force in the nest. These qualities will be critical for E19 and E20 to thrive and survive as they travel the path to become magnificent Eagles. Nest Notes by dadsjazz.
