SWFEC Nest Notes: E20 Proclaims “I’m Still Here”

image

E20 is past the average time when former Juveniles embarked on their journeys of discovery. E20 seems to be enjoying the comforts of home long after sibling E19 took to the skies on their big adventure. E20 claimed the pond area as their haven for easy access to steal a meal or a food drop. E20 uses this extended time to perfect hunting skills and has amazingly caught several fish in the pond. E20 spent an overnight away from the pasture but arrived home the next day.

E20 has all the necessary tools to navigate Eagle Life but has not decided to begin the trek. M15 is still in provider mode and delivers meals to E20. Dad is a pushover when it comes to his offspring. Mom’s job is complete as she tolerates but does not engage much with E20. Harriet appears to ignore E20’s approach to her loudly vocalizing. Harriet knows the time to leave has come, and her tough-love method may be the spark.

Harriet and M15 will soon savor their time for rest and renewal. They have accomplished their goal of presenting two brilliant Juvenile eagles into the world. E19 and E20 have been among the most intelligent and well-prepared of their offspring. E20 will soon decide to take the last flight around the territory to soar the skies and begin life as a magnificent young Eagle. Nest Notes by dadsjazz

A late update, at 1:20 pm, E20 was seen flying and soaring in the South East. We will see if E20 returns.
