Two Eagles in a Pine Tree. In the wee hours of the morning Ozzie and Harriet began nest bowl work featuring the “Ozzie Shimmy”. Ozzie wriggles his chest in the nest bowl and then he does the “Ozzie Shuffle” by kicking his feet backward. Although these comical names give light to his actions they look as if they are very important in constructing the nest bowl. Nest Acivity – Tues, Nov 12- Love is In the Air

Harriet and then Ozzie arrived on the nest.They proceeded to vocalize and engage in their affectionate sparring some refer to as “beaking”. Didn’t get to watch the cams yesterday? Here is what you missed: Morning: Vocal greetings began early at 4:00am nest time. Ozzie arrived at the nest before dawn and began his nest bowl fluffing. Harriet arrived shortly after and proceeded to help. Ozzie really likes to do this task himself so an early morning discussion with vocals and “beaking” took place for a while. Daily Update from the Nest (Nov. 10, 2013)

Sunday was not a day of rest for Ozzie and Harriet as they get their nest in order for the upcoming egg laying. Some subtle changes in their behaviors are being observed as the time draws near: Harriet seems to be in the nest more. She was viewed on camera lying in the nest for quite a while this afternoon. Harriet has been very vocal. Ozzie is relentless in his stick deliveries and nest bowl “shimmies”.
