E4 was greeted by the dawning of a new day and Mom’s early morning delivery of a small fish to the nest. E4 has been practicing the many skills needed to survive and grow into a beautiful adult Eagle. Ozzie was on the job early bringing in fresh grass for the nest. E4 spent the morning preening all the new feathers that are quickly coming in. Mom and Dad began the hunt for food for themselves and growing E4. Ozzie was seen by ground observers catching and de-feathering a water bird near the pond. Wind & Wings- Nest Notes, Photos & Videos

It was going to be a windy day at the nest. E4 was up early with a full crop from yesterday’s large catfish dinner. Ozzie and Harriet began their morning with housekeeping duties, cleaning up the leftovers in the nest, eating some and feeding some to E4. Mom and Dad stopped in the nest for short visits and took turns on watch in the nest tree branches The gusts of wind may have caused E4 to lay low most of the day. Weathering the Storm- Nest Notes, Photos & Videos for Feb 13

Strong thunderstorms with high winds swept through the area last evening. Harriet was at the nest to give shelter to E4 while the storm raged on. The cameras were affected but there were glimpses throughout the day from a few camera views and reports from watchful ground observers.  What is known is that Ozzie, Harriet and E4 weathered the storm and went on with their daily activities. Learning Lessons- Nest Notes, Photos & Videos for Feb 12

Early morning vocals were heard from Ozzie and Harriet and E4 was awake and waiting for food deliveries to begin. The nest was again filled with plentiful fish catches. E4 had a very full crop and slept off the effects from all the fresh fish. Ozzie and Harriet moved sticks and aerated the nest bowl. E4 is catching on quickly how to share in the chores and moved some things around in the nest too. Ozzie was the great fisherman today. He began the morning with a fresh catch delivery to hungry and waiting E4. Harriet soon arrived to finish the feeding. Mom seems to love her time feeding E4. There were lots of flights to and from the nest tree by Ozzie and Harriet that E4 watched and tracked with keen Eaglet eyes.  Harriet brought fresh pine again today and sticks for some “nestorations” and rail building. It was a beautiful, sunny and breezy start to the morning at the nest. Ozzie’s early morning delivery arrived with fur today and looked like an opossum who possibly met its demise crossing the road. E4 tracked Dad’s flight in and rushed to see what the food for the day was. E4 watched as Dad de-furred and waited to be fed. Growing Strong Bonds- Nest Notes, Photos & Video for Feb 9

The first meal of the day was delivered with white feathers. Harriet began the de-feathering process and it looked as if snow was flying in the nest. E4 joined in grabbing at feathers too. The afternoon was quiet and E4 took many long naps in the favorite spot near the edge of the nest. Mom offered E4 some needed shade from the hot afternoon sun. Mom stepped to the nest early this morning and fed some “nestovers” to E4. The chores for the day began.
