The foggy morning gave way to a beautiful sunny day at the nest. E4 was up early “nestorizing” and looking for any leftover goodies. Harriet was perched on the upper nest tree branch. The morning started out foggy but E4 was up and “wingersizing” early. Mom was vocalizing from the Cam 2 tree and Dad flew off into the fog. E4 was anxiously waiting for a food delivery squeeing and looking for morsels of leftovers in the nest. E4 is looking very grown up these days with changes happening everyday. Almost Like Flying- Nest Notes, Photos & Videos for Feb 21

E4 spent the very breezy day doing lots of “wingersizing”. It was almost like flying as E4’s had wings outstretched for long periods of time getting a little lift off in the gusts of wind. Beautiful wing and tail feather development continues at a fast pace. Ozzie arrived with his large catch of the morning. Changing Day by Day- Nest Notes, Videos & Photos for Feb 20.

E4’s appearance is changing with each new day. It is hard to believe that on Christmas Day, 57 days ago, E4 came into the world as a tiny chick and is growing into a strong eaglet. E4 spent the day preening all the beautiful emerging feathers including a sweet little ruffled tail. E4’s body is nearly the same size as Mom and Dad. Early morning vocals were heard from Ozzie and Harriet as they perched together on the outer branch of the nest tree. E4 was already searching through the nest for bits of leftovers. Ozzie headed out for the morning hunt and arrived with a fresh fish and E4 rushed to mantle the food and grab for a share of the meal. E4 is perfecting stealing and feeding skills. A Day in E4’s Life- Nest Notes, Photos & Videos for Feb 18

E4 began the day doing the things curious and growing eaglets do. Careful observance of Mom and Dad teaches E4 to move some sticks and grasses, look for “nestovers” and work on self feeding. Wing exercising, stretching and standing are improving as E4 gains more strength and balance. E4’s day was mostly peaceful and serene. E4 is very alert tracking Mom and Dad’s food deliveries and rushing in for a grab at the meal. E4 was greeted by the dawning of a new day and Mom’s early morning delivery of a small fish to the nest. E4 has been practicing the many skills needed to survive and grow into a beautiful adult Eagle. E4 spent the next part of the morning attempting to self feed, trying to coordinate standing on the fish and pulling it apart to get a few bites. Dedication and Determination- Nest Notes, Photos & Video – Feb. 16

Ozzie was on the job early bringing in fresh grass for the nest. E4 spent the morning preening all the new feathers that are quickly coming in. Mom and Dad began the hunt for food for themselves and growing E4. Ozzie was seen by ground observers catching and de-feathering a water bird near the pond. He made several attempts over the next few hours to bring the catch to the nest but was not successful because of the weight of the bird. Wind & Wings- Nest Notes, Photos & Videos

It was going to be a windy day at the nest. E4 was up early with a full crop from yesterday’s large catfish dinner. Ozzie and Harriet began their morning with housekeeping duties, cleaning up the leftovers in the nest, eating some and feeding some to E4.
