Harriet and Ozzie’s baby eaglet came into the world very strong. E3 as it is called was observed throughout the night wobbling under Mom Harriet’s tender care. Welcome to the World – Nest Summary for Dec. 23

Today was day 36 since Harriet laid her first egg. Harriet had been on nest duty for approximately 41 hours with small breaks in between. Did she know the big event of her baby eaglet was preparing to break into the world? While all are on alert for signs of baby eaglets, Harriet was busy with her work incubating her precious eggs. She also displayed her nest keeping abilities by bringing some soft moss for the nest and her favorite décor, a sprig of fresh pine. The days are quickly approaching for Ozzie and Harriet’s baby eggs to begin hatching. Today was a quiet day at the nest that began with Ozzie taking over incubation duties early in the morning. Ozzie became restless looking for Harriet who returned around noon time.  Ozzie arrived on the nest close to sunset to give Harriet a break. Ozzie and Harriet shared a brief meeting on the nest this morning during their change of nest duty. Harriet flew off to the camera 2 tree. Ozzie took over his incubating of the nearly developed eggs. As the time nears for hatching both Ozzie and Harriet seem to be looking and listening for changes to occur. All is Calm- Nest Activity for Dec 18

Harriet had a late night out last night so her morning incubating time lasted a little longer. Ozzie treated his mate to a fish breakfast this morning. Harriet was very eager to eat her delivered meal. Harriet returned for her second round of egg sitting and was treated again by Ozzie with a second course of his freshly caught fish before noon.. There were beautiful flights to and from the camera 2 tree in the afternoon. Harriet vocalized loudly as she had Ozzie in her sight bringing breakfast. Harriet voiced her appreciation, ate quickly and flew off to the camera 2 tree. Ozzie took over incubating duties and spent the morning watching the horse play activities in the pasture. A short while later Ozzie set his sights to the sky watching a possible intruder. He took a sweeping flight around the nest tree, back to an upper branch and around again.
