The New Year, 2014, came in with very loud bang. Harriet looked very disturbed and Ozzie was on the nest at her side in an instant. It appeared that the fireworks of the celebrations in the area were bothering them. The very first days in the life of the sweet eaglets E3 and E4 have been filled with a lot of activity. Mom and Dad have been very diligent in the care of their precious babies. As the beautiful Christmas morning sunrise was arriving, Ozzie flew off toward the river for a try at fishing. Harriet and precious baby E3 were eagerly waiting for his return. Ozzie wasn’t successful in his fishing expedition, but not to worry, Harriet came to the rescue and brought a fish to the nest. Welcome to the World – Nest Summary for Dec. 23

Today was day 36 since Harriet laid her first egg. Harriet had been on nest duty for approximately 41 hours with small breaks in between. Did she know the big event of her baby eaglet was preparing to break into the world? Harriet vocalized loudly as she had Ozzie in her sight bringing breakfast. Harriet voiced her appreciation, ate quickly and flew off to the camera 2 tree. Ozzie took over incubating duties and spent the morning watching the horse play activities in the pasture. A short while later Ozzie set his sights to the sky watching a possible intruder. In approximately 7 days some changes may be occurring to begin the hatching of Ozzie and Harriet’s baby chicks. Harriet has been spending the majority of her time on the nest these past days.
