A Day in E4’s Neighborhood- Nest Notes, Photos & Videos for April 19

The Family was together perched in the Cam 2 tree as the day began. Ozzie and Harriet each flew off toward the river. E4 took refuge from the shrike attacks in the Church tree and then flew off to the west pasture tree line. Harriet flew in with nest material and E4 hurried to the nest looking for food. Quiet Day Eating & Perching- Nest Notes, Photos & Videos for April 18

E4 greeted the day vocalizing while perched on the porch branch just off the nest. Mom and Dad were perched side by side in the Cam 2 tree vocalizing too. Ozzie and Harriet flew off in search of the day’s food. E4 took a flight around the pasture and landed in one of the pond trees. Ozzie returned to the nest with a large fish.  E4 was off on a flying adventure tree hopping to most of the favorite trees in the morning. Ozzie dropped into the nest from the river with prey and Mom and E4 joined in the meal. Ozzie delivered a fish to the ground in the pasture as E4 flew to the tree above. Breezing From Tree to Tree- Nest Notes, Photos & Videos for April 15

E4 made flying from tree to tree look easy in the strong breezes today. Ozzie and Harriet made several appearances in the pasture. Harriet brought a pine branch to the nest but E4 was expecting food. Harriet then arrived in the pond tree with a fish and E4 immediately joined her to grab a bite. E4 was successful in stealing the fish but dropped it to the ground. E4 used the foggy morning to hide from the pesky birds in the upper banches of the nest tree. New Lessons- Nest Notes, Photos & Videos for April 12& 13

Ozzie and Harriet were off toward the river early Saturday morning. E4 was already being chased and bombarded by the birds. E4 took a beautiful sweeping flight around the pasture to the church tree. E4 then flew another long flight toward the west and settled in the far pasture tree line to escape the annoying birds. E4 was perched on the porch branch early this morning and ready to take flight to the trees behind the church next to the nest pasture. E4 seems to like hiding in those trees from the shrikes and crows that are still using E4 for target practice. Ozzie flew to the ground near the pond with food maybe trying to entice E4 to follow.  It appears the other birds sharing the pasture territory may think E4 is a threat to them and their nests. The Loggerhead Shrikes have their sights set on E4 and continue their barrage. The crows are also relentless in their pursuit of E4 in flight, on the nest and when E4 is perched in snag trees. E4 was getting flight practice in early today before the rain storms came. The shrikes were already up to their bothersome diving at E4. Ozzie and Harriet headed out early on the hunt for the meals of the day. E4 flew to the west pasture and back to the nest pasture trees.
